Taste d'Lite is a Canadian artisan bakery based in Ottawa, Ontario. Our website is tastedlite.com. When you place an order or contact us, you're dealing with Taste d'Lite directly. For privacy enquiries, please contact us at [email protected] or +1 825-888-0753.
2. Information we collect
When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and delivery address. When you create an account, we save account details in our secure database. If you allow convenience storage, we may also save checkout profile details in your browser's local storage on your device. We collect the products you ordered and your order preferences. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address. Our website uses Stripe for payment processing - we never see or store your card details.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to: (a) process and fulfill your order; (b) send you order confirmation and follow-up communication; (c) send you the Taste d'Lite newsletter if you subscribed; (d) improve our products and service; and (e) respond to your enquiries. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Payment processing
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your payment card information is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored by Taste d'Lite. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. You can review Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
5. Email communications
Order confirmation emails and catering follow-ups are sent via Resend (resend.com). Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe link in every message. You can also unsubscribe at any time by contacting us directly. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails.
6. Data retention
We retain order information for as long as necessary to fulfill legal and accounting obligations, typically 7 years as required by Canadian tax law. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Browser convenience storage can be changed at any time from Cookie Preferences in the website footer.
7. Cookies and tracking
Our website uses strictly necessary cookies for secure customer login, admin login, and checkout sessions. We use browser localStorage to remember your consent choice. With your permission, we also use localStorage to save your cart, wishlist, recently viewed products, and checkout profile on your device. This browser data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you complete checkout or save an account profile. We do not currently use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on our website.
8. Your rights (PIPEDA)
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
